Should i Do this?? Advice needed?

Ok, I have this invention i am trying to build. It is a motionless generator, no moving parts made up of a crystal( created by me). This crystal is the responsible for power storage and movement. Well the math i have done to determine the viability says the generator can run for 6months in one charge..the math is very complex but i do trust it. My question is this: Should i patent it? or should i send it to the Government and request funding because the USAFRL( United States Airforce Research Lab) does have the avenue...PS. I am an undegrad student so i dont have a money stored somewhere to fund it.. So Ideas on how to handle my situation.
