Why doesn't tennessee have a minimum salary?

I mean, most state's have it and it makes sure no one is screwed over. So I would love to know from someone that actually knows about this kind of thing, seeing as I can't find anything online, or im just not looking in the right place. Either way, I really think I rather just get answers from people instead of some old web page someone posted god knows when.
