If we don't have money to enforce immigration laws then why do we have money to enforce the patent laws?

The only illegal aliens we crack down on are those that break patent laws. These enforcement of patent laws are extremely expensive since they have to go to other countries to enforce them. The cost easily pass those of deporting illegal immigrants. So why do we choose to enforce laws that cost us so much more? Rather than enforce those that are actually cheaper.
