Are evil people born that way?

I think it's both depending on the person. I was always a total sweetheart when I was young but in high school I was pretty much an evil, insane sociopath because I couldn't handle being transsexual. Now that I can handle it and I'm transitioning I'm a pacifist who lives for love. So I went crazy due to my homophobic environment. If you look at Ted Bundy, he was never abused but he was still a sociopath. He said he never understood emotions or why people would want friends. So I think it could be genes or an overwhelming environment that causes it. In many cases it's probably a combination like you said.
